Can i have someone arrested for ruining my reputation?

Ok here it goes.. True Story By the way, I am 25 years old I have been with my husband for 7 years this March 2011 I have never cheated on him or told a lie. My exbf needed a place to stay until his floor in his place was replaced. I let him stay on our couch, Now my husbands family is calling me a whore and slut and friends of the family is saying they saw me sleeping with him at the river on a picnic table, Which is not True at all.. They have caused friends and family to question me and to call me names. my reputation is ruined. They claim i slept with more then 1 guy, Can i have them arrested for lies? if you need more info let me know.
