1998 camaro ls1 big cam question?

i am almost 16 and looking for a 98 camaro as a first car...i am mechanically inclined and know about cars and engines....my dad has a 67 camaro with a 427 and a huge cam(3000rpm and up range) and i absolutely love the way it sounds.....i am wanting to put a big cam(but not as big as dads)in my ls1 camaro to give it that aggressive rumble....but i do not know if i will have to change the valve train(push rods, valve springs) in the engine to withstand the big cam?????will u tell me what i will have to change if i have to change anything????thank you
